Description
(NL5 x Dominion Skunk)
Flowering Time– 60-68 days
Morphology- Plants grow into nice Xmas tree shapes. Two main phenotypes are generally seen. One tall that’s most common. The other pheno is very NL dominant, a tight noded squat plant with very dark glossy green leaves. The standard pheno will stretch 1:1 to 1.25:1 and the squat pheno about 0.5:1 to 0.75:1.
The common phenos are reminiscent of Chemdog/NL and Shiva Skunk in floral structure, smell, and overall look. Chem and skunk funk with oil rag and pine undertones on the nose with the common phenos. The shorter girls are straight gas and kush/oil rag with a skunk og undertone.
Tall phenos have an excellent calyx to leaf ratio, the shorties are good but slightly more leaf. Nothing to turn your nose at unless its too stinky. Good strong vertical branching holds up the thick flowers with no floppiness.
How Does It Smoke– Very potent long lasting high that’s balanced in the head and body. The flavor is on point with the funk, primarily has the Chemdog sour skunk undertone that is good on the inhale and tastes great on the exhale with a long linger. Certain phenos exhibit the incense trait when burned. Really lights up the room.
Growing Notes- Depending on the pheno selection, the tall pheno will be better suited for any style. Multi-headed dominant cola in bushes or scrog. Short pheno will require more veg time and we recommend super cropping into a large bush that is well shaped prior to inducing flower.
They like a median feed regimen and a slight bit more calcium in weeks 1-4 and a magnesium boost in weeks 5-7.
Yield– Medium High
Lineage– Melvanetics Northern Lights #5 ‘Garlic Mom cut’ x Dominion Skunk
Pest Resistance– 4/10
Mold/Mildew Resistance– 8/10
Stress Notes– Overfeeding will diminish final product and yields will suffer
So this is the Munson pheno that’s the most common, over 2/3rd of the progeny we ran. As far as structure, strength, resin and the funk factor .. it’s the best of the best. Now as far as the best, this girl is part of a population that we put thru the stress to see what she can really take. Without going on forever on the why for the folks who ask why do that? Not everyone is a experienced or “master grower”, myself included. Some folks, actually alot of folks now legalization has happened are growing for the very first time. Some folks just don’t have a handle on their environment and it’s something they have to deal with and out of their control. Some people have accidents and no one’s born knowing everything. So it’s nice to know that I can give someone a cultivar that will excel in a harsh environment and more so in ideal conditions. If something is sensetive I want to be able to give someone a heads up, I want to be able to tell the person that hey.. this might not be for you. It may be a outdoor guy who likes something but it’s not resistant to pest, prone to mold and mildew. It may be the first timer or maybe the person who runs 1800-2000 ppm and just can’t stop themselves. I would rather them be able to make a informed decision on what they get and I would rather someone keep their money than to come back unhappy. Even if that means going on the the next person and skipping me all together. These cultivars are not all the same, try growing a heirloom Thai and some big bud on the same regemin and visa versa and see how that works out. I hope people can appreciate this and it helps them flourish. Now as to this girl, it’s solid as can be. When doing the photo I was like I think I see a nanner, How’d I miss that? I looked and it’s a little seed from something else near it who couldn’t take it. Munson’s only downfall is pest resistance, she’s average to less on that depending on the pheno. However, she’s funky and yielded great. Very remenicent of old nl with chem and shiva skunk. She’s really rank and frosty. I really want everyone to rock her and spread clones to one another and maybe get some new blood growing.
